Here's all the parts prior to any cleaning. They look pretty bad here.

Amazing what a little elbow grease and polish will do! The aluminum cleaned up almost like new! The inside was pitted quite badly as you'll see in the following photos.

Lots of corrosion and rust on the inside.

Here's another view of the inside of the fuel cock body before any work was done.

The inside of the fuel cock body was badly pitted and corroded, but the integrity was still good. The inside where the fuel flows cleaned up fairly well, and should work fine when assembled.

Here you can see the grease and grime caked on the outside of the fuel cock body.

I cleaned and polished the outside with a fine wire brush mounted on my drill press. I used AUTOSOL metal polish for the metal. It works great when used with some OO steel wool. I actually got this polish from my Kirby Vacuum shop. They use it to clean the polished aluminum bodies of their vacuums! Great stuff!

The finished product, with the sediment bowl attached. Came out looking very good!

Just another view of the fuel cock body.

Lots of deposits, corrosion, and pitting made the inside of the sediment bowl difficult to deal with.

The fuel bowl outside surface polished up like a mirror! The inside had very bad pitting and corrosion. I wire-brushed the inside the best I could without removing too much metal.
